Rework

Do you remember this top from my second post? I got really good feedback from it and I thought I would try another outfit. It is a lot more casual but I hope you like it!
Also, after several week, the lounge is finally coming together and I thought I would share a snippet.. Do you like our choice of wallpaper? I hope you are also enjoying the pile of Vogue... Believe it or not, that is not half of my collection... One day I will show you the entire collection, it comes up to my hip!
Anyway, I hope you have a great week!!

Girly Army

I wore this outfit to work today and it is so wonderfully comfortable!
When I visited my sister in Hong Kong last year we went to Shenzhen.
One of the main attraction of Shenzhen SEZ is a mall which is full of dubious Ipads and Vuittons except for the top floor... My idea of heaven... fabric as far as the eye can see!!
Among other things I bought two metres of this vibrant fuchsia silk and up until two weeks ago I had no idea what to do with it... There was a lot of pressure to use it wisely as I don't tend to go to Shenzhen in a heart beat to buy more fabric...
It might sound silly but I fell in love with this army t-shirt because of the pocket and I liked the contrast between the utilitarian feel of the pocket and the whimsical effect of the silk!
The colour really dresses up my worn jeans and leather jacket!
All in all an extremely satisfying outfit!
Have a great week and don't forget to donate to Oxfam!!

Oxfam Emergency Appeal

Hi! So yesterday I mentioned that a few times a year I like to have a full clear out of my wardrobe for charity! Well I encourage you to do the same! And now is the perfect opportunity! Oxfam suffered unprecedented losses on the 30th April when a fire broke out in the Wastesaver processing plant where Oxfam keep their clothes and books donation for national distribution!
Now Oxfam need your help to rebuild their stock! So please have a rummage through your wardrobe and donate as much as you can!
I built this blog on up-cycled vintage which almost exclusively comes from charity shop and I will be clearing my wardrobe this weekend! I hope you will be joining me in clearing yours too!
To find out more about Oxfam, please visit their website or one of their shop!

Tribal

Hi! It has been a llllloooooonnnnnnggggg time!! I do apologise... the week was crazy! And you will soon find out why as I will introduce a new backdrop to the pictures... The DIY in the lounge is nearly finished!!!
A couple of years ago when I was living in New York, I had a sequin epiphany and all I wanted was to buy sequins! Being lucky enough to live in the garment district, I rushed over to M&J Trimmings and bought bags and bags of the stuff... However, it took me a while to really figure out how to embroidered interesting patterns but as you can see here and here, I finally got the hang of it!
This top used to be a standard (men) grey t-shirt, I beaded a tribal inspired pattern and gave it a feminine shape... I just think it is the perfect simple summer top!
As you might have noticed I am a bit of a clothes hoarder (although I tend have a wardrobe clear-out twice a year to give to charity) and when I find a pair of jeans that I love I keep it for years regardless of style and size... I was so happy the other day when I took these Citizens of Humanity jeans out because A - they still fit! and B - flares are coming back!!
Have a fabulous week!

Work in Progress

Have all of you resumed everyday life after the Royal Wedding and all the bank holidays?
I thought I had until I looked at the pictures for this post... It is a mourning coat! Well I promised that it is not on purpose!
Yet again, I found this coat at Retro Paradise in Brussels. I had been looking for one for ages! Of course it is a man's jacket and the sleeves were way too big so I removed them. I am planning on replacing them with other sleeves, probably leather except if you have other ideas?

Crown Jewels

Still being in the Royal Wedding mood, I thought I would do a jewellery post and I would give it a very original title...
Did you guys watch the wedding? How awesome was it?
I grew up in a household filled with furniture from the 1950's, my parents were big fan! Accordingly, every piece of jewellery that I ever received from my parents was vintage. There was my mother's pearls (in a bracelet) for my 16th,  the Georg Jensen necklace for my 18th, the Georg Jensen bracelet for my 20th and the Tiffany and Co bracelet for my 22nd - Georg Jensen is a great favourite in the Roegiers household!
My grandmother also gave my her Line Vautrin Brooches and bracelet which I adore!
I have added to my collection from vintage shops around the world. Although they are not precious, they are still loads of fun!
The backdrop to the pictures is my first ever French Vogue from September 2002! I have been collecting them since then! It is a Vogue Tower!

It should (not) have been me...

I had to jump on the bandwagon of the Royal Wedding!
I opted for this lace piece which used to be two shirts found in a thrift shop in Camden, Maine... How random, I know! But hey that's where my sister lives now!
I love the end result, although it took me several attempts to get the beading right.
Believe it or not but the pair of Converse used to belong to my sister (yes the one who lives in Camden, Maine) when she was in high school... and let's just put it that way Mark Wahlberg was still called Marky Mark at the time... Gotta love a transgenerational pair of Converse!
As for the wedding, I'm doing a brunch at home. So so excited but not the least bit jealous... I've always been a Harry's girl!
Do you have any plans?
