Sequins Overload

So if you have been following the blog you might have noticed that I have a slight obsession with sequins...

Loud and Proud

Do you remember this piece? I bought it a couple of weeks at Oxfam - it used to be a dress and now it's a shirt!! Magic!
I added a big bow made from left-over chiffon from this outfit, I think it just adds to the ridiculousness of this print!!
All in all, this outfit makes me happy!
I hope you like it to!!

The other day at the office

When I buy vintage I always look for two things: amazing clothes and accessories that I do not need to touch because they are too beautiful and articles who are in need of a little love.
A few months ago I was in Brussels and my first pit stop after coming out of the Eurostar was to go to Retro Paradise (for those of you who don't know about Retro Paradise and the organisation behind it, check it out here - it is pretty inspiring!)
Among other things, I found this dress which I love but I feel is lacking something and I can't put my finger on it! Until I do, though, I keep wearing it hoping inspiration will strike - it has become a staple of my work wardrobe!
What do you think? Do you have any ideas on how I could modify it?

A promise of good things

Yesterday I came home to a big box from Hong Kong... 1.4 kilo of fabric! And that is just music to my ears...
Stay tuned to see what they will become!

That is what 1.4 kilo of chiffon looks like!

A plain black t-shirt...

This is a plain black t-shirt... I just pimped it out with some navy chiffon!
This outfit is a little bit of a vintage-pallozza....
The belt comes from my beloved Retro Paradise in Brussels.
I bought the jacket when I was living in Milan. I was going to a party called 'Punks wear Prada' (check it out here) and it was 'Army Chic' themed. In the hunt for cheap gear, my housemates and I ended up in this market that basically only sells army offcasts, the jacket proved to be an awesome dress and we ended the night taking a nap on Piazza Duomo... All in all a very successful evening!
And the jacket actually proved to be a great investment in the end because I still wear it and I love the fact that it still has a name tag - Sadelberg - and that's just a great name!
I hope you also enjoy our new doormat, it sets the tone of the apartment!

This weekend's finds....

This weekend I finally decided to get my act together and donate to Oxfam... I had prepared a bag of clothes but never got around to actually going to the shop! Outrageous, I know!
Yesterday seemed like the ideal time because we had to go shopping for my cousin's wedding. Alex (the boyfriend who's wardrobe I sometimes raid...) needed to hire a morning suit and I needed to get a dress, a hat and shoes.
Wedding wise the day was not super successful for me, I really struggled to find a dress I love! However, Oxfam did not disappoint... I found the purple dress and the suit jacket.... I love love love them and I can't wait to get started... stay tuned!

The cobalt dress comes from the vintage shop Beyond Retro in Soho (check it out here). The shop is pretty amazing, it is packed full of awesome clothes and accessories (and old school Playboy magazines...) that are mostly sourced from charity shops which is always a bonus!
After such a disappointing day I think I am going to use that dress (I mean the colour is awesome!) and transform it to create my dress for the wedding... we'll see how it goes...
